KMI Actuators uses its patented technology to power a standard hydraulic rack and pinion actuator. The KMI hydraulic power cell is built onto the actuator and plumbed to the driving cylinders to provide a self contained unit, negating the need to bring in remote hydraulic power.

Adaptable to either a single or double rack actuator, the power cell will provide full functionality of a standard KMI linear actuator, including fail last, speed control and ramped reversibility.

The KMI power cell does not use solenoid directional valves to reverse direction, but the bi-directional and variable frequency capability of standard induction motors.

For quarter turn positioning, a rotary position monitor can be installed for modulating control or for open and close applications.

If required, KMI can provide an on-board PID controller for 4-20mA control. This responds to a 4-20mA. It can also be used as a local switching device, (latching or momentary), or as a remote open-close switching device.
